The morning air was far colder than I was expecting, and the sky was grey. Hannah I walked to “The Corner”, her favorite cafe from staying with her friend Dean over the summer. While the time was creeping steadily into the afternoon, for us it was still breakfast time. We got eggs, mimosas, and I tried to explain to her how Fiona and Cake was so intricately woven.
We made coffee back at Dean’s place, mine tasted awful, and then after Dean left for school I watched more Fiona and Cake. The thought of college classes seemed like just about the most foreign thing to me, at this point in my life. I did not envy Dean even slightly.
Many of the people we passed on the street, were wearing something between pajamas and sweatpants. I couldn’t imagine going to school without putting at least some effort into my outfit. But I recognized that it’s a good deal colder in Boulder, CO than in Southern California, and perhaps I didn’t last long enough at college to get to the point of giving up on public appearance.
From there I drove to Denver (or south of Denver (Englewood)), met up with Paul, climbed at a gym (bouldering unfortunately), tore open my hand doing an overly flamboyant move, made two new friends, went to the very first Chipotle ever, met a couple more people at the place Paul lives, and stayed up until 2am talking to a guy named Sam about adventuring.
Sitting around the fire, Paul’s friend Zach got a request from his friend Tyler to record himself saying “egg chair”, for something “cinematic”. And that was the best thing I could think of to name this blog.
I took one picture today, of a cooler at the climbing gym (or "rock gym" if you're cool), because it was still from the Odwalla days, before they got wiped out by Naked. My dad really liked Odwalla so I took a picture to send him.
So life is going pretty well.
